day 182: the last time auckland

I woke up quite early although it was a quite long night. Petra and Simon decided to travel for a while together so it was time for me to say goodbye and leave. I had to wait for the bus a few hours but I didn't want to do much. The bus took me to auckland and I always have a bad feeling when I'm here. I also got some back pain. Apparently I have it always before a flight. 

day 181: whangerei

Our destination was whangerei today. It was a short drive and our last drive. We visited a waterfall, a great small Track and some caves. I really wanted to explore the caves a little bit more but I hadn't a light and petra didn't want to go further. Anyway that what we have seen was very cool. After that we ate something and went to our campsite where I met Simon who I already have seen at the cathedral cove. We bought some beers and had a great evening. I can't really believe it that I have to leave and also have to leave petra. The time was amazing and I hope it's possible to meet again.

day 180: northland glowworm caves

I woke up in my tent around 8 o'clock in the morning without a isomate because I have given it to dominik in the south island. It's quite ok to sleep on the ground although I would prefer a bed. Petra and me ate something for breakfast, went after that to a bird colony beach with such a disgusting smell. It's such a different how easy traveling is with a travel mate. You can go wherever you want and do what ever you want.

We stayed the night next to a really cool glowworm cave and some good rock climbing spots.

day 179: piha

Luckey Petra's car was already fixed in the morning so she gave me a lift. We were driving to some waterfalls and went for a swim. After that we continue the trip to piha. Petra has a great sense of humor and it was really a pleasure to drive with her a few hours. When we arrived in piha we also went for a swim. The beach is really beautiful and seems a little bit dark. In the evening we went again to the beach to see the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen. A perfect ending for a perfect day.

day 178: coromandel city

Another day of hitch hiking. It's so nice too see how kind people can be. A older couple picked me up and invited me come to there home and they offered me to pick some plums and gave me after that another lift a little bit further. After that it was harder to get picked up. I waited maybe one hour. I met at the hostel a girl from Czech Republic who will maybe give me a lift up to the northland.

day 177: hot water beach and cathedral cove

I really enjoy at the moment my rough plan and being independent all in one. That in my opinion the best way to travel. I went to the hot water beach today first but it wasn't sooo cool because there ist just a small part of the beach where you can make a pit which is filled with warm water. 

After that I managed it to get to the cathedral cove but I was the only person who had a big backpack with me. The cove was also ways too busy so I didn't spent there much time although it is impressive but unfortunately it's just too annoying. 

Later in the hostel in whitianga I met toby and we killed some beers and and a great talk. 

day 176: tairua

I started the day very early to see the sunrise and also because the weather prediction was very bad for this day and there should be a big storm. The sunrise was amazing and definitely worth it. I walked the same way back to the village and went for a swim. After that I tried to hitch hike out to the main road which took me a while but I met a cute dog. I was lucky that somebody picked me up and brought me to the center of Tairua. I walked immediately to the hostel just before the rain started. The rest of the day was quite lazy.

day 175: freedom camping

It is so amazing how beautiful the time at the moment is. I started my trip today with my first science. 

I tried to go to a waterfall and it was quite easy. I went for a swim and played guitar there. After that I continued the trip along the coast. My plan was to sleep somewhere on the beach and that worked very good. I did a walk near a small village. The region is like a paradise and I was completely alone so it was like I'm in a dream.

day 174: mount wanganui

I met yesterday Clara and Marie and they planned to see the sunrise. I asked if I could join then and they agreed. We started at 4 am and had to drive to the mount. Luckily they had a car and the weather was really good.

The sunrise was really beautiful and the two girls so cool and pleasant so it was real fun. 

I fall asleep after this morning but in the afternoon I went with another guy to the mount and for a swim. Today was probably the best day for surfers in tauranga, because the waves were georgios.
